Futakoi Alternative
All the cool kids are watching it, but does Futakoi Alternative measure up? In a word, yes. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it is definitely good. More importantly, pictures!

I can't believe I took so long to get around to watching Planetes. It has all I could have hoped for: engaging, lovable characters brought to life by top-notch voice acting; a compelling plot that hits all the right notes; a novel and realistic sci-fi setting; a fantastic soundtrack; and an ending that feels just right.
I played Tales of Symphonia some time ago, and it's about time I wrote something about it. Let's cut to the chase: Tales of Symphonia is good, but not great. The word that comes to mind is solid— it's no Legend of Zelda, but overall I enjoyed Tales of Symphonia quite a bit.
I recently started watching Full Moon wo Sagashite because of a certain strong recommendation, and I was not disappointed. The show does start out a bit childishly, but right around second season the shit hits the fan, and it's then that Full Moon wo Sagashite really starts to shine.
I haven't given games enough love on this site, and I'm going to start changing that by talking about one of my favorite games since Super Smash Bros. Melee, and my favorite RPG since Grandia II. Yes, I'm talking about Kingdom Hearts, the 2002 Squaresoft/Disney hybrid.
Why is is that every single game website I visit has to be based on Flash? I don't want to wait while their bloated excuse for a website loads and then get assaulted by low-quality looped music while wrestling with 'cute' navigation schemes. That is, if I could even get Flash working consistently in FreeBSD. Most of the time, all I want is a blasted wallpaper! Couldn't they at least provide a bare-bones HTML version? Grr.
So, Azumanga Daioh was pretty much the perfect thing to watch after the brain-fuck that was Neon Genesis Evangelion. (Well, perfect for inducing acute cognitive dissonance, anyway.) Also, episode 16 contained quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Fear the Chiyo-chan!
Screenshots don't really do it justice, though. I must find a plush Chiyo-chan peguin...
First, I apologize in advance for this rant. Second, since it's about the ending of the anime D.N.A², here's a nice big SPOILER WARNING. With that out of the way, I really didn't like the ending of D.N.A². I refer, of course, to the last three episodes released as a separate OVA to end the series.
I should have linked this earlier, but reading the final entry just struck home how ridiculously good it was. I originally checked out Darth Vader's weblog thinking it would provide a few minutes' amusement, but now that it's over I'm already missing it.
