Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

My initial impression of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha was, "this is exactly what you'd get if unskillful men tried to duplicate Cardcaptor Sakura." By the time I finished the series, though, that impression had improved significantly. The show is a bit formulaic, and the quality of its artwork is inconsistent (the onsen episode was particularly bad); but on balance it's still worth watching.

Nanoha winking, with Yuuno on her shoulder

Sakura and— I mean, Nanoha and Yuuno.

Nanoha and friends at a cafe table, inspecting Yuuno

Nanoha's friends show an interest in Yuuno.

Fate and Alf standing on the roof of a building

You get one guess as to which one is called "Alf."

Chrono holding a gold-colored card

Nope, no Clow cards here...

That said, Sakura > Nanoha, unquestionably.
